Vitely #2: Vite Rebrand, VITCSwap $100,000, VINU Discord Hacked

Another week, another round of exciting news from the Vite universe – from hackers, bounties, milestones reached and marketing triumphs, we’ve got you covered!

We’ve had another exciting week of events and announcements in the Vite space. There’s a lot to talk about, we’ve tried our best to condense it down and share the most important stories.

Vite Rebrand

Over the last couple weeks/months, Vite has been going through a transformative process. We’ve seen announcements of it transitioning to a DAO, even had it release it’s first DAO tool, and now we see Vite rebranding with a modernized logo and website design.

A member of the Vite community managers has also mentioned that Vite has recently been pushing discussions with many tier-1 exchanges. We have high hopes for these discussions and wish Vite the best of luck!

Vite has released a video teasing the new colourful logo and a refreshed website design. So far we’ve been told this is expected to release sometime in Q2 of 2023.

Transparency Concerns

In Vitely #1, we spoke about the concerns that some members of the community have been expressing towards Vite’s transparency and lack of communication. These conversations have continued, with 2 out of 3 sides openly and passionately discussing their perspectives.

For the community, the questions about Vite owned SBP’s has continued, as well as concerns about who the Vite core team members are, and future of Vite. For the community managers, who seem to be the barrier between the community and core, they continue to ask for patience, for community support and for members to be optimistic.

JuanVite from Vite has assured the community that all the questions have been taken to the core and that he is working on an article going over all the questions. Today, he apologetically requested more time due to there being 34 questions and needing to spend time with family for the holiday. We’re looking forward to his article coming out sometime next week ?.

While we haven’t heard from the core team, we have seen an increased level of output from them. From new marketing accomplishments, tier-1 exchange discussions, the DAO tool, bug bounties and the above Vite rebranding, it is clear Vite is making moves.

Vite $2000 Bug Bounty

Vite has launched a new bug bounty for Large Contracts and Await features. Finding a bug has the potential to earn a portion of the $2000 reward pool. It started on April 27, and goes on until May 15.

The Large Contract upgrade will reduce the Quota consumption per byte allowing new products to launch on Vite such as the upcoming ViCat game ?.

The Await feature has the benefit of improving performance and scalability of applications on Vite, as well as increasing flexibility and efficiency in programming. In simple terms, the Await function allows for asynchronous programming which has the benefit of allowing long running tasks to be executed without blocking other processes.

We can’t wait to see what the talented community developers build for us on Vite once this goes to mainnet! ?

VITCSwap $100,000

VITCSwap, the DEX made by Vitamin Coin has surpassed $100,000 swapped! Now onto the next milestone of $1,000,000 swapped! ?

VITCSwap has been built into both the Official Vite Wallet and Viterium for easy swapping.

The DEX is continuing to grow, now offering 32 trading pairs and has much lower listing fees than ViteX at only 500 Vite, instead of 10,000.

VITCSwap also differs from ViteX as it offers Market trades instead of Limit trades.

VitaBot Twitter API

Twitter has started charging for use of its APIs. The pricing on this ranges from $100 a month for hobbyist projects, which allows posting 3,000 tweets, with a read limit of 10,000 tweets per month.

The price goes up exponentially from there with reports of enterprise pricing starting on the low end at $42,000 a month.

We’ll continue to update the VitaBot Twitter article if this changes and VitaBot comes back to Twitter.

For users wondering what will happen to the Vite Tokens currently in their Twitter wallets, the developer Not Thomiz is evaluating a potential work around that would allow users to move the funds. We’ll keep you posted.

While VitaBot is a fantastic tool, it’s always recommended to only keep small amounts on it. Keep the majority of your coins/tokens in a non-custodial wallet like the official Vite wallet or Viterium.

Vite’s Marketing Triumph

The people asked for more Marketing from Vite and… wow did they ever deliver. In one tweet and one large giveaway, Vite’s Twitter subscribers have more than doubled. With the tweet itself getting over 10k retweets and likes.

We hope this marketing success brings a lot of new people to Vite as one of the requirements to complete the giveaway was to download the Vite wallet.

No one is really sure how it happened, or really why this giveaway was so explosive, however to put it in context… Vite gained over 60,000 followers in 1 day alone! ?

Vinu Discord Hacked

Earlier this week, Elemont the CEO and big doggo of Vinu had his Discord account hacked. Immediately the hacker started removing the moderators, chat channels and posted a link to a scam website in the announcement channel. When people tried to warn others in the server not to fall for the scam, they were banned.

In an inspiring show of community support and leadership, mods and leaders from other Vite projects started alerting everyone to the scam immediately. Some users willingly sacrificed themselves (got banned) by returning to the Vinu server and informing anyone looking like they may have missed the warnings of the scam.

Many went to the Vitamin Coin Discord and Minion Discord to ask questions. Some user seeming worried and panicked, not knowing what to do. But they were met by calm community leaders and members who took the time to explain what was happening, and answer questions which greatly calmed down the FUD and anxiety.

In less that 24 hours, the hacker was kicked, and the Vinu Discord server was back under control. Elemonts personal Vitabot balance on Discord did get stolen, which amounted to 265B VINU, or around $3000. The hacker subsequently sold this Vinu right away.

In the end though, the hacker wasn’t able to do that much damage. The Vite community was strong and rallied around supporting Vinu and its community. In some ways, these events even seem to have further strengthened the bonds of the Vite community.

In other Vinu News

There’s always something happening in the #Vinuverse. New listings, new events, new memes, and even a new product launched earlier called VinuPay. We haven’t even listed everything here. BTW, are you a Star Wars fan? Vinu even has a Star Wars event coming up on May 4th.
